A remote surgical system combining immersive vision, precision robotics, and intent-based control.
Synture is developing a remote surgical system that combines immersive vision, precision robotics, and intent-based control.
Our goal is to explore how surgical expertise can be delivered independent of geography — enabling access to critical procedures in regions where specialised care is limited.
In many regions, surgeries are delayed not because procedures are impossible — but because the right specialists are unavailable when they are needed most.
For millions of patients, delayed intervention can mean preventable complications, permanent damage, or loss of life.
Phoebe, growing up in Nigeria.
One of Synture's founders, Phoebe, experienced this reality firsthand.
"Surgical expertise should be accessible to everyone, everywhere."
Phoebe grew up in Nigeria and required urgent surgery as a newborn. No qualified surgeon was immediately available on-site. The procedure had to be delayed until another surgeon could arrive and attempt the operation.
That delay changed everything. Although the surgery was eventually performed, complications during the process left her with a permanent scar — a lifelong reminder of what can happen when access to specialised surgical care is limited by geography and infrastructure.
To this day, Phoebe lives with health complications that cause chronic abdominal pain — a direct consequence of what should have been an uncomplicated procedure.
Synture began with a simple but deeply personal realisation: access to surgical care should be universal, regardless of where you are born.
A closed-loop platform connecting human intent to robotic execution — built for precision, designed to go anywhere.
Translates human intent into controlled, stable motion at the patient site — with sub-millimetre accuracy across all axes.
Combines immersive vision with intent capture to create a seamless control loop between surgeon and robot.
Synture is designed for environments where immediate access to specialised surgical care is limited or unavailable.
Remote specialist support for hospitals lacking immediate access to specialised surgeons, particularly in emergency or high-complexity cases.
Supporting community surgical programmes, humanitarian deployments, and temporary missions where specialist availability is limited.
Enabling remote specialist intervention for time-sensitive procedures where the required expertise cannot arrive quickly enough.
A connected surgical ecosystem where specialist surgeons support multiple regions remotely and access to care becomes globally distributed.
Researchers, engineers, and clinicians who refused to accept the gap between surgical intent and execution.
